DOUBLES TOTALISATOR

Sir, —In your reply to “Race Follower” this morning you quote the regulation governing the doubles totalisator. One point does not seem to be covered by them. -If a person holds the only winning ticket on the first leg and couples it with a loser in the second leg, would he be entitled to collect the whole pool?—Yours, etc., VERY CURIOUS.

May 22, 1950. [The regulations state that if the first, second and third horses in the second race of the double are not backed, the pool is divided “amongst holders of tickets on the race equally.” If a person holds the only winning ticket on the first race of the double and redeems it on a horse which is unplaced in the second race he would collect the pool.—Ed., “The Press.”]
