SUMMER FROCKS WORN Among Canterbury residents who were presented by Mrs W. J. Jordan at the presentation party at Buckingham Palace on May 10 were Miss Mary Macfarlane. Miss J. Grigg, Miss P. Harper. Miss Anne Chapman. Miss R. Barker, and Mrs E. D. Pullon. Miss Macfarlane, who is the elder daughter of Mr and Mrs D. C. Macfarlane, Eiffelton, Ashburton, wore a forget-me-not blue silk crepe dress, navy Bangkok hat trimmed with for-get-me-nots and navy blue accessories. Miss Grigg, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. H. Grigg, Longbeach. wore a grey and pink silk dress, and grey straw hat trimmed with grey feather. Her gloves and handbag were grey. Miss Chapman, daughter of Mrs Denis Chapman, West Eyreton, wore a grey silk crepe dress with large white spots, and a white hat trimmed with white flowers and veiling. Miss Harper, daughter of the late Mr and Mrs C. F. Harper, of Christchurch, wore a navy blue and white silk taffeta frock and a white silk linen hat trimmed with blue feathers and white veiling. Miss Barker, daughter of Mr and Mrs J. S. Barker. Four Peaks, Geraldine, wore a two-piece suit of dusky pink silk crepe and a pink hat with white ostrich feathers. Mrs Pullon’s patterned dress was of brown and lime green silk crepe, worn with a brown straw hat trimmed with off-white ruching and brown veiling.
