COMMUNIST CHINA’S POSITION ATTITUDE OF WESTERN POWERS _ w x WASHINGTON. May 22. The Western Powers had decided against opening the way now lor the admission of Communist China to the United Nations, it was stated bv responsible officials to-day. The decision was reached in London at the conference of the Foreign Ministers of the United States. France and Britain. i said that the London meeting xeft the American official position on the issue unchanged. The position as restated by the Secretary of State (Mr Dean Acheson) was that the United States would not vote to admit Communist China representatives, but would accept the decision of the majority of members of the United Nations.

In continued protest against the presence of Chinese Nationalist delegates Russia to-day withdrew from the twenty-eighth United Nations body when the Soviet representative walked out of the 12-nation Population Commission at Lake Success.

In Florence. Czechoslovakia and Hungary also walked out of a UNESCO meeting for the same reason. wa s among about 20 nations which did not vote on a recommendation from the Credentials Committee to accept Nationalist China.
