SALMONELLA CASES REPORTED

INFECTIOUS INTESTINAL DISEASE

TIMARU. May 23. Investigation concerning 20 cases of Salmonella, an intestinal infection, in South Canterbury, have been made during the last six weeks by the Medical Inspector of Health for the Christ-church-Greymouth District (Dr. J. H. Blakelock).

Although there had been 14 positive cases, there was no cause for alarm, said Dr. Blakelock. The cases generally were mild. Persons affected by intestinal trouble, especially accompanied by fever, should seek medical advice.
