WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS

Governors Bay-AUanclale.—One new member was welcomed by the president (Mrs Ford), who presided at the May meeting of the Governor’s Bay-Allandalc branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, which was held at the home of Mrs Empson. Members agreed to send money from the social fund to CORSO towards food for South China. Mrs Black reported on the annual meeting of the Christchurch provincial executive. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of Airs W. Parkinson, of Kaituna. was passed. During the afternoon musical items were given by Mrs Empson, and recitations by Mrs Black. Competitions resulted as follows:—shoulder spray: Mrs J. R. Ford 1, Mrs Williai” • 2, Miss Campbell 3; large bloom: Mrs R. Steans 1, Mrs R. Loader 2, Mrs Williams 3; small bloom: Mrs M. J. Foley 1, Mrs Steans 2, Mrs Bucktin 3. Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Bucktin and Lamborn. Diamond Marbour-Purau.—A comprehensive account of the recent model meeting and group meeting was given by Mrs Hunter at the monthly meeting of the Diamond- Harbour-Purau branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers, together with the annual report of the president of the provincial executive. Mrs Pritchett presided. A letter from the Bow Street Settlement, acknowledging with gratitude the parcel of clothes sent during the year, was also read. Members joined with the president in congratulating Mrs Hunter on her being appointed a member of the executive of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Competitions resulted as follows:—chrysanthemums: Mrs Hunter 1, Mrs Candy 2, Mrs Olliver 3; miniature: Mrs Hunter 1, Mrs Olliver 2, Mrs Candy 3; bloom: Mrs Hunter 1.
