MR DOIDGE PRAISES WORK AT SYDNEY TALKS (New Zealand. Press Association) AUCKLAND. May 23. Lord Macdonald, who will arrive at Auckland by air from Australia on Thursday, had done a first-rate job as leader of the United Kingdom delegation to the British Commonwealth Conference in Sydney, said the New Zealand Minister of External Affairs (Mr F. W. Doidge) to-day. “Obstinate on occasion, yet sound in judgment, frank and friendly, Lord Macdonald worthily represented the country which we proudly acclaim the cradle of our race,” Mr Doidge said. Lord Macdonald is Paymaster-Gen-eral in the British Cabinet. He intends to visit Rotorua, Wairakei, and Waitomo. Several other delegates to the Sydney conference will arrive at Auckland..tOrmQi.Tpw. Mr Doidge will meet all of them on their arrival.
