Cuts scheduled for to-day and Thursday in electricity supply by the Riccarton Borough Council have been eliminated. The cuts next week will be made on Wednesday and Thursday. The consumption had been 1 per cent, below the quota since rationing was introduced.

Hard freezing-up has occurred in the alps and the flow in the Harper river has fallen to 160 cusecs, the lowest on record, and in the Waitaki river to 4662 cusecs. Storage fell in the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. yesterday by 680,000 units, 2.513,329 units having been generated in that period. Another frost was recorded in the watersheds yesterday.
