SYDNEY. May 22. The Federal Treasurer (Mr A. W. Fadden) to-day denied the “Sunday Sun” report that he might be sent to Britain and America to arrange a bolter deal for Australia in the supply of dollars. Commenting on the denial, the “Daily Telegraph” says: “Someone should go because Australia’s dollar need is urgent. She wants machinery and other goods vital to her development which she Can get onlv from the United States. True. Britain is entitled to spend her share of dollars as she likes—and she spends a lot. including 100.000 dollars which the entertainer Danny Kaye took back t » America. “But Australia needs dollars for development which will give work to her thousands of new citizens. She is, therefore, entitled to demand a review of her share of the Empire dollar pool.”
