FATAL INJURIES TO WATERSIDER

JUDGMENT GIVEN FOR £3533 AS DAMAGES (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 22. The family of Edward Longbottom. a waterside worker who died late last year from injuries received in a wharf accident, will receive £3538 damages from the New Zealand Shipping Co., Ltd. Dr. O. C. Mazengarb. K.C.. who appeared with Mr C. H. Arndt for the Public Trustee, acting as executor for Longbottom. reported to Mr Justice Gresson in the Supreme Court to-day that a settlement had been reached and moved for judgment for £3538. Mr W. P. Shorland, who appeared for the defendant company, agreed to the judgment. The original claim was lor £6OOO. The Public Trustee will report to the Court the division of moneys payable 1 to the widow and family of Longbottom.
