Cost of Living; Protests.—The committee formed to organise public protests against the policy of the Government “in its attacks on the living standards of the people of New Zealand,” intends to convene a meeting in Sydenham Park on Sunday, June 4. This information was given last evening by the press committee, of the provisional Trade Union Congress. The committee will also arrange a meeting at Timaru soon. Meetings will also be held in Christchurch suburbs.
