DOLLAR SUPPLY TO AUSTRALIA

NEWSPAPER REPORTS DISSATISFACTION

(Rec. 9 p.m.) SYDNEY, May 21. “Senior Federal Ministers believe that Australia is not being treated fairly by the United Kingdom in the matter of dollars,” says the Canberra correspondent of the “Sunday Sun.” “Although the United Kingdom’s dollar position has improved considerably. the Federal Treasurer (Mr A. W. Fadden) is adhering scrupulously to the Chifley Government’s undertaking to restrict dollar expenditure by 25 per cent. “It is known that members of the Ministry are seriously perturbed by what they view as unfair treatment of Australia. Mr Fadden may be sent on a rush trip to England and America to see if he can secure an improved arrangement.”
