MINOR FIRES

A fire in a motor-car owned by Mr Geoffrey Mardon did. slight damage to the engine yesterday. Units from the central station answered the call at 5.19 p.m. to the corner of Lichfield and Manchester streets, where the car was parked. A quantity of scrap rubber was slightly damaged, by a small fire in the reclamation department of Dunlop, New Zealand, Ltd., Lane street, Woolston, yesterday morning. Units from the central and Woolston stations were called at 3.30 a.m. and put the fire out without difficulty.
