GOOD ENTRIES FOR STUD RAM FAIR

A total of 331 entries, which is only two less than last year, has been received for the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s stud ram fair on February 16. The secretary (Mr M. E. Lyons) said yesterday that although not a record, the entries were well up to average. The figures for the various breeds, with the totals for 1949 in parenthesis, are as follows:—Southdown, 152 (72); Romney Marsh, 42 (37); Ryeland, 7 (4); Corriedale, 66 (56); Border Leicester, 21 (14); English Leicester, 41 (37); Merino, 1 (3); Lincoln, 0 (6); Suffolk, 1 (2); Halfbred, 0 (2). Total, $3l (333).
