LORRIES CROSS SOVIET BORDER BERLIN, February 5. The fortnight-old creeping blockade of Berlin appeared to have ended this morning, when the queue of German lorries bound for Berlin from the west was cleared at the British-Soviet zonal checkpoint at Helmstedt. During the last 24 hours 386 lorries arrived in Berlin from the west. POLAND’S BUDGET MORE TO BE SPENT ON ARMY WARSAW, February 5. Poland’s army under Marshal Rokosovsky will get about £18,000,000 more than last year. The Finance Minister. (Mr Konstanty Dombrowski), presenting the 1050 draft Budget to Parliament, said that expenditure l on social and cultural development would increase by more than £162,000,000.
