TALKS ON ATOM SECRETS
THREE NATIONS TO CONFER.
RELEASE TO PUBLIC TO BE CONSIDERED (N2. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 9.30 p.m.) LONDON, February 6. The “Daily Telegraph” says that the extent to whjch information on atomic research can be released generally to scientists and to the public will be determined at discussions among British,
American, and Canadian scientists starting on February 9. The talks will be held at the atomic energy research station at Harwell.
Secrecy regulations will be reviewed in the light of the atomic explosion in Russia.
The meetings at Harwell will be the fourth in a series concerning the “declassification” or release of documents dealing with atomic research. No rules will be revised until the changes have been reported to the three Governments. The United States and Canada are sending nine representatives to Harwell.
