(Rec. 7 p.m.) BOMBAY, February 5. The Commonwealth cricket team declared its first innings closed for nine wickets for 403 on the.second day of a three-day match against Bombay. A brilliant fourth-wicket partnership between Umrigar and Merchant enabled Bombay to score 259 for five wickets at stumps. The home team made a bad start, losing three wickets for eight. Lambert took two wickets in the opening over before Bombay had scored. Umrigar made 117, and Merchant, who retired injured, scored 107.
