Sir,—The Canterbury centennial celebrations are on the wing and the experts representative of the business community are putting their heads together to make the celebrations an outstanding success. And why not? What about a Cathedral square illuminated with neon coloured lights and a fountain, similar in design to the Bowker fountain? The Avon river is nearby, so an attractive fountain would create an enchanting atmosphere. with tropical palms, goldfish, and waterlilies. —Yours, etc.. OPINION. February 6. 1950.
