February 5« The immediate withdrawal of the American bomber squadrons from Britain is included in a programme advocating friendship with Russia, a large-scale trade with Eastern Europe and China, freedom for colonies, and reforms in home policy The programme was published yesterday under the title “Crisis and Cure.” The authors are members of the Labour Independent group who sat in the Parliament just dissolved. They are Messrs D. N. Pritt, K.C., Lester Hutchinson, John Platts-Mills, and L. Solley. The programme says: “Russia and ourselves in friendly co-operation will turn the nightmare of the atom bomb into a dream and then into the reality of atomic energy, with its incalculable lightening of human labour.”
