FAMILY SAILING RACE

13 SINCLAIRS COMPETE

Thirteen members of the Sinclair family, three generations of which have been prominent in yacht racing were skippers of the 13 yachts which took part in a family sailing race at Lyttelton yesterday afternoon. The race was sailed in a fresh to light southerly wind and attracted a large number of spectators. Two trophies which have been in the family for many years were awarded for the race and will be held by the winner, John Sinclair, and the runnerup, Steve respectively, for a year. The race is to be an annual one. These trophies were made available by Mr Thomas Mather and his sister, who are related to the Sinclair family.
