REPRESENTATIVE TEAMS ANNOUNCED

The following players have been announced by the New Zealand Softball Association for the annual inter-island match at CMfristchurch on February 18: North Island—K. Jones (captain). B. Wareham. F. Sylvia, B. Corlett. D. Brewer. A. Aitken (Auckland); F. Roy (vicecaptain). K. Ellison. B. Cooke, V. Moore (Wellington); M. Coulston (Wanganui). South Island.—L. Quested (captain). J. Anderson, B. Quickenden, A. McLeod, R. Furlong, G. Griffin (Canterbury); G. Crack (vice-captain). L. Johns. T. McCaw (Southland); I. Joss, I. Mann (Otago). Arrangements are being made for an Australian women’s softball team to tour New Zealand next season. This will be the first tour of its kind and will be in return for the New Zealand visit to Australia last season, when Australia narrowly won the tests. It is proposed that the team should arrive in Wellington between Christmas and New Year. It will participate in the New Zealand tournament at Christchurch, play tests in Christchurch, Wellington, and Auckland, and matches in Timaru. Wellington. Palmerston North, Te Kuiti.
