OVERTIME WORK IN TIMBER INDUSTRY
REQUEST FOR SUBSIDY TO BE RETAINED (New Zealand Press Association! NEW PLYMOUTH, Jan. 30. Representations are being made ny timber millers to have the subsidy on Overtime worked in the industry renewed after March 31. ... Recalling that the subsidy was withdrawn .from exotics and from certain indigenous areas where mills we^ e held to be unable to maintain full cutting production, a prominent K’ n t Country miller said this evening that the previous Government announceu that the assistance would end completely at the end of next MarchMillers were asking that the industry as a whole, whether dealing in exotic or indigenous species, should be able to draw on the subsidy.
