VALUE OF ENTRY BY ONE FIRM (New Zealand Press Association.) DUNEDIN, December 23. The Dunedin record catalogue offered by any one firm at- a wool sale, the 11,908 bales sold by Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd., on the first day of the double auction this week, established a New Zealand record for value. ’ The gross proceeds exceed £600,000. MERGER OF COMPANIES POSSIBLE Hume Pipe (Aust.), Ltd., and Hume Steel, Ltd., might merge, said the chairman of Hume Steel, Ltd., Mr A. J. McLachlan, at the annual meeting in Melbourne on Tuesday. The merger would benefit shareholders of both companies. Details would be known early in the New Year. The companies manufacture reinforced and steel-lined concrete pipes.
