WARNING TO CREAM VENDORS
SUPPLIES MUST BE LICENSED
“From inquiries made in Christchurch it appears that a large quantity of cream for Christmas orders is being procured by vendors from sources not licensed for town supply,” said Mr R. G. Brown chairman of the Christchurch Metropolitan Milk Board, in a statement yesterday. In the interests of consumers. Mr Brown appealed for all vendors to secure their requirements for legitimate sources, and said that the board would have to consider taking disciplinary action against vendors w s o supplied cream over the unrestricted period, but had not secured it through the proper channels. "Recognised treating houses and supply organisations have arranged to meet the anticipated demand which would arise with the lifting of the restrictions, but. in view of the small orders received from vendors, it might be necessary for substantial quantities to be disposed of to butter factories,” he said.
