The Australian Swimming Union has decided to press for two changes in the constitution of the Empire Games: <l> That ’ a fixed swimming programme for all Games meetings be instituted. (2) That the Games, in future, he held alternately in Great Britain and an Empire country. The proposal will go before the Australian British Empire Games Association and. if approved, will be submitted to the British Empire Games ft Organising Committee. EMPIRE GAMES ROWING DRAW COMPLETED (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 22. Australia gained No. 1 position in four of the five races when the draw for Empire Games rowing events to be held at Karapiro on February 6 was completed to-day. The Mayor (Mr J. A. C. Allum) and Captain A. C. A. Duckworth, Naval officer in charge at Auckland, drew the names of the four contesting countries as follows: Eights.—Australia 1, New Zealand 2, England 3. Single sculls; Australia 1, England 2. South Africa 3, New Zealand 4. Fours: Australia 1, New Zealand 2. Double sculls: New Zealand 1. England 2, Australia 3. Pairs: Australia 1, New Zealand 2. BOXING OFFICIALS FOR EMPIRE GAMES (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 22. The New Zealand Boxing Council announced to-night that the following officials had been appointed for the boxing section of the Empire Games:— Referees: Messrs E. C Armishaw (Auckland), J. Moore (Wanganui), A. E- Tall (Invercargill), H. W. Mallin (England), and E. Rigg James (Rhodesia). Judges: Messrs S. E. Burke and G. B. Nelson (Auckland), W. P. Somerville (Wellington), A. J.
