HANDWORK DISPLAY

KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION

Toys of every description to delight and amuse small children were displayed at the annual art and handwork exhibition of the training staff and student teachers of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association in St. Andrew’s Church hall yesterday All the articles displayed were made by the staff during the vear. ( A feature of the exhibition was the variety and number of dolls on dis- , play. Each doll was beautifully ■ dressed in either a hand-knitted outfit 1 or a frilly frock. The wall decorations were most attractive. " Each poster was brightly coloured to attract the attention of young children. In this section rabbits. squirrels, snow-men. and Father Christmas comnlete with sleigh and reindeer were all included in the colcupful pictures. . I Much enterprise was al«o «=nown in the wooden toys on display. The manv toy trains with their variety of engines and carriages would please any small child. Quoits, iig-saw puzzles, and games of every description. all made of coloured wood, were

inHvdpd in tH« display. All the articles in the exhibition were not only attractive to look at. but were o' a uniformly high standard of workmanship.
