WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

Mount Pleasant.—Two new members were welcomed - by the president (Mrs McGregor Smith) at the monthly meeting of the Mount Pleasant Women's Institute. An instructive address on the care of the feet was given by Mr F. Murdock, of Sumner, who illustrated his talk with X-ray photographs. A comprehensive report otj the half-yearly meetihg at Glentunnel was read by the president. During the month the president and former members of the committee entertained Mrs W. E. Turland, who is leaving for a visit to England next year, and Mrs Storrie, who is returning to Scotland in January. Competition results for the month were as follows: best bloom. Mrs Ross 1, Mrs Dawrant 2, home-made or bought Christmas present worth 2s 6d, Mrs Mason 1, Mrs Dawrant 2.
