WELLINGTON BEATS AUCKLAND

(New Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 6. In blustering conditions, to which the local players adapted themselves more efficiently, Wellington overwhelmed Auckland in an interprovincial men’s golf contest. Wellington won the foursomes, 5 to one. and the singles, 9 to 2, one match being halved.

RAWHITI CLUB A Stableford pairs match was played by the Rawhiti Club yesterday morning and resulted as follows:—J. Millard and W. Norman, 68 points; I. Pockson and N. Foubister, 68 points; N. Barritt and M. Leake, 64 points; C. E. Wroth and E. Ferrier, 64 points. Millard and Norman won on the count back. The following were the best scores in the monthly mixed foursomes played on Saturday:—J. Sprosten and Miss M. Petrie, 81. 19—62; N. Jarvis and Miss M. Francis. 83, 21—62; A. P. Hobson and Miss M. G. Pierce, 90, 23—67; N. Johnson and Miss N. Ryan, 82, 15—67. Sprosten and Miss Petrie won on the count-back. In the final of the Veterans’ Cup, J. McClymont beat H J. Thomas, 2 and 1. A four-ball best-ball was played yesterday, and was won by N. Barritt and N. Foubister, 5 up.
