WOMAN DISAPPEARS FROM LAUNCH

(New Zealand Press Association.) WHANGAREI, October 15. Disappearing off the launch Knoxie on a trip from Russell to Rawhiti last night. Miss Mary Pera, aged 28, has not yet been found. The search for her is continuing to--day after being made difficult by heavy fog last-night. Miss Pera was seen standing in the cockpit for some time, but it was not until three-quarters of an hour later that it was noticed she was no longer on board. The launch put about immediately, and radio-telephone communication was established with Russell from where Constable E. J. Gibbs and Mr Neville Fuller began a search.
