U.S. RELATIONS WITH SPAIN
Sir, —I would like to draw your readers’ attention to the cabled report from Washington, by Senator Robert Taft, of September 23, urging America to resume friendly relatii ns with Spain as a step towards strengthening the North Atlantic defence. There i: great strategic value in having the friendship of Spain. The writer h very pleased with Taft’s suggestion tc have an ambassador in Spain. Mr G F. Seward and I have frequently writt * to “The Press” in defence of Franco’s Spain. No doubt my iricnci will still be acting in a similar capacit though in far away England.
