PRAISE FOR A REFEREE
5 Sir, —I wish to praise the referee - who controlled the Coast-Canterbury 1 League game at Athletic Park last 2 Saturday. This official handled the * game in a very capable manner and his interpretation of the advantage s rule was a treat to watch. His - example in neatness of dress, too, was - one to be followed by other referees. I hope the New Zealand League selectors have this official in line for s an all-important test match. —Yours, ’ etc., - JOE WILLIAMS. September 7. 1949.
