GIFT FROM THE BLIND

£2O FOR CHRISTMAS PARCELS The usual monthly afternoon social under the auspices of the New Zealand Institute for the Blind was held at the Jellicoe Hall yesterday afternoon. Mr Jim Gerald and members of the “Gay Nineties” Company were present, and delighted the audience with excerpts from the programme of their current show. Additional vocal items were presented by Miss J. Brunning and Mr Clifford Shirley. A feature of the afternoon was a collection amounting to £2O 4s 9d received from the blind of Christchurch as their contribution towards Christmas parcels for their fellow blind friends in Britain.
