WAR CONCESSIONS FOR STUDENTS
SENATE DECLINES TO GRANT EXTENSION (New Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON. August 24. A request from the Returned Services’ Association that the Senate of the University of New Zealand conI tinuo war concessions on marks, order I of subjects, and special examinations 1 was considered by the Senate to-day. ! The Vice-Chancellor (Professor I. A. Gordon) said that at present marks ; concessions lapsed two years after demobilisation. Very considerable con- , cessions had been made. To introduce i additional relaxations now could lead | to a sense of grievance among those l who had alreadv passed under the | existing concessions conditions. It I would require the revision of many ) thousands of cases. I The Senate decided to take no I action.
