SUGGESTED DATE FOR
INQUIRY
Representatives of ward II of the New Zealand Counties’ Association met in Christchurch yesterday and suggested September 27 as the date on which the Local Government Commission should open its inquiry into the districts and functions of county councils around Christchurch.
The press was not admitted to the meeting, and Mr J. McAllister, the secretary of the ward, said later that the only decision available for publication was that which suggested the date of opening of the inquiry.
