Supplies of Dried Fruit— The uncertainty of supplies of dried fruits used in the baking trade was viewed with concern at the annual conference of the New Zealand Federation of Bakers and Pastrycooks in Auckland The meeting noted particularly reports of crop .failures in Australia, and in view of his decided to instruct its council to seek an assurance from the Government that all other sources of supply would be examined. A member said he understood that some supplies might be secured from South j Africa.— (P. A.)
