IMMIGRANTS ON ATLANTIS

MANY OCCUPATIONS REPRESENTED (New Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 6. The Atlantis, which is due at Wellington on May 19, is carrying 892 new settlers from Britain. Of these 776 are assisted settlers, 109 are recruits (mainly tradesmen) for the armed forces, and seven are selected migrants P ying their own fares, said the Minister of Immigration (Mr A. McLagan) to-day. The dispersal of the party would be carried out on the broadest possible bacis, and almost every main and secondary centre in New Zealand would receive a quota, Mr McLagan said. Many trades and occupations were represented among the new settlers. There were also 82 settlers nominated by persons in New Zealand.
