RAID BY PARIS POLICE

COMMUNIST WEEKLY NEWSPAPER (Rec. 7 p.m.) PARIS, May 4. Officers of the Surete Nationale today raided the offices of “France d’Abord,” a Communist weekly newspaper. A member cf the staff of the newspaper said that officers had also raided the home of Mr. Yves Moreau, editor-in-chief of the paper, and taken him to Surete headquarters. Mr Moreau was released on provisional liberty during inquiries last month by ,an investigating magistrate of the Paris Military Tribunal into a case of alleged espionage. On April 26 the tribunal announced that a charge had been laid against Mr Moreau and three other men of having divulged national defence secrets to French citizens not entitled to , know such secrets.
