NEW BRIGHTON FENCES
Sir,—At last the hedges that encroached so much on our footpaths in New Brighton have been removed, or cut right back. We did not all expect to see six-foot paling barricades take their place. I well remember, when a youth in England, seeing many of these abominations with broken glass embedded in cement on the top. Can we make the city beautiful with sixfoot fences? Would not four feet, as a maximum, be to the benefit of all concerned?—Yours, etc.. WM. WILKERSON. New Brighton, March 30, 1949.
