WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS

Marshland.— Mrs Marks (president) presided at the February meeting of the Marshland branch of the Women’s Division of Federated Farmers. Arrangements for a- picnic to Selwyn Huts and Coes Ford were made. It was reported that the members of the newly-formed Brooklands branch were expected to attend the March meeting. Roll call, “Various ways of removing stains,” was well responded to. Competitions resulted as follows: bloom large, Mrs J. Robertson and Mrs Marks (equal) 1; Mrs G. M. Watson 3; small bloom, Mrs Booker 1, Mrs Port and Mrs S. Watson (equal) 2; lavender sachet, Mrs Ching 1, Mrs G. Watson and Mrs Lawson (equal) 2; Christmas cake, Mrs Allen and Mrs McLauchlan (equal) 1, Mrs Quaid 3. Gifts were given to members whose birthdays fell in January and February. Several letters were read from England acknowledging receipt of parcels sent by the branch.
