YOUNG CONTINGENT REPORT

The eleventh annual report of the Victoria League Young Contingent gives a record of much useful work done by members during the last year. Under the Save the Children Fund they are sponsoring four European children, to each of whom they send every month a parcel to the value of £l. They , also have sent £2O worth of unknitted wool to displaced children in Europe and a Red Cross case of clothing, given by the members. The members’ main energies have been directed towards aiding Britain. They sent to Britain in March 10561 b of food, in June food to the value of £B5, in November £65 Avorth of-food. In addition they have sent 1101 b of food and many parcels of soap to a children’s home, and once a month they hhve sent a 221 b food parcel to the Dundee Old People’s Home. Other gifts sent overseas included clothing for V.A.D.’s and for children, and a parcel containing 12 dozen handkerchiefs. The luncheon meetings, the report says, were successful. A course of lectures under the Family Life Council was popular and four interesting lectures were given on world affairs.
