WASHINGTON MAN’S NIECE FOUND .
CHRISTCHURCH RESIDENT A niece of Mf Thomas Taylor, of Everett, Washington, U.S.A., was located in Christchurch yesterday by Mr E. J. Bell (librarian of the Canterbury Public Library). An article in “The Press” yesterday said that Mr Taylor was trying to find his brother, Mr Frederick William Taylor, last heard of in Christchurch. The niece, Mrs C. G. M. Parfitt, of Rudleigh avenue. Upper Riccarton, telephoned Mr Bell yesterday morning to say that she was the daughter of Mr Frederick William Taylor. Her father died some years ago, she said. She was advised by Mr Eell to get in ' touch with the Everett Public Library, which had written to him for information concerning Mr Taylor or his family. Mr Bell,* who had previously searched library records unsuccessfully for some trace of Mr F. G. Taylor, was also telephoned yesterday afternoon by a man who said he knew Mr Taylor many years ago, and was a member of the same lodge, and by a woman who said she remembered him quite well, but hadn’t been in touch with him for some time.
Mrs Parfitt said last evening that her father had gone to Australia about 14 years ago and had died there three years ago. “We were quite thrilled and surprised to see the article,” she said. “We had a vague idea thatTlncle Tom was in America, but we thought he must have died some years since.” She said she was sending a cablegram immediately advising him that she would be writing.
