« REGULATIONS AMENDED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, October 28. An amendment to the Police Offences (Wrestling Contest) Regulations published this evening provides that in contests between amateur wrestlers the time occupied in actual wrestling shall not exceed 15 minutes. The amendment says that if, after six minutes’ wrestling, neither of the wrestlers has a definite lead the referee shall interrupt the bout and, after a break, he shall in agreement with the majority of the judges, order that the contest continue for a further period not exceeding nine minutes, with such breaks : as he may order. A senior Police Department official said the amendment had - been introduced to bring New Zealand amateur wrestling in line with Olympic rules.
