GUARDS IN ACTION IN MALAYA

RAID ON TERRORIST HIDE-OUT

SINGAPORE, Oct. 17. Coldstream Guards went into action for the first time in Malaya at the week-end. Together with police and members of the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, a detachment of the Coldstream Guards raided a terrorist hide-out near Bidor, in south Perak. They were seeking terrorists who killed four soldiers earlier this month. They shot dead one terrorist and wounded four others, who escaped into the jungle. Altogether four Chinese terrorists were killed in Malaya to-day. A constable and two Chinese were murdered.
