LEESTON FIRE BRIGADE
OFFICERS ELECTED Guests of the Leeston Vblunteer Fire Brigade at its annual meeting included members of the Town Board, several visitors from the Southtoridge brigade, and a former senior station officer of the St. Albans brigade. Continued keen interest in their work and regular attendance at weekly practices by members were mentioned in the reports, while the balancesheet disclosed a credit of £4O 13s 3d. Officers elected were:—superintendent, Mr H. D. Jones; deputy, Mr K. N. Jones; first driver, Mr F. Bennett; second, Mr P. Cameron; third, Mr C. Duff; first engineer, Mr B. Clausen; second, Mr E. J. Welsh; first branchmen, Messrs O. Grant and H. C. Free; second, Messrs A. Glasson and N. H. Tasker; secretary, Mr E. C. Maindonald; custodian, Mr J. McNair; messenger. Mr G. Thompson; auditor, Mr
Long service awards were made to the fallowing:—Superintendent Jones (27 years), Branchman H. C. Johnson (23 years). Branchman N. H. Tasker (23 years). The visitors were afterwards entertained to supper.
