SEGREGATION IN S. AFRICA
APPLYING POLICY TO FACTORIES (N.Z.P.A.—Reuter—Copyright) (Rec. 7 p.m.) CAPE TOWN, Aug. 31. The South African Minister of Labour (Mr B. J. Schoeman) announced in Parliament that the Government would appoint a commission»to consider applying to factories the policy of segregating Europeans and nonEuropeans, and to consider how to avoid the consequent economic repercussions. The Minister of Native Affairs (Dr. E. G. Jansen) told Parliament that the Government was considering whether segregation should be applied in the main urban areas.
