HEADER-HARVESTERS

Sir, —I have been wanting to buy a header-harvester, but have always thought the price to be too terrific. Can you answer this question? If a farmer could have landed a header from the United States for £lOOO a month ago, what would he be expected to pay for one now that the exchange is lifted? Also, if he landed it from Canada, would there be a similar deduction, if any?—Yours, etc., » THE DUNCE. August 21, 1948. [When this question was referred to the manager of a farm-machinery importing firm he said that the benefit of the alteration in the exchange rate was being passed on by the importers where the machines were landed under the new rate.]
