PROFIT OF £782 LAST YEAR From Our Own Reporter GREYMOUTH, Sept. 1. The balance-sheet presented at the annual meeting of the Greymouth Jockey Club this evening disclosed a profit for the year of £782, compared with a loss of £76 last year. The president, Mr J. W. Hannan, who was re-elected unopposed, said that there had been an increase in the membership of more than 40 in the last year. Tributes were paid to the work of several club members under the . leadership of Mr H. C. Moore, chairman of the course committee, on the Omoto racecourse, where many improvements to the track and appointments had been made. An election by ballot resulted in the following committee of 12 being elected: Messrs C. L. Kettle, H. C. Moore, J. P. Low, C. G. McKechnie, L. S. Robertson, F. Costello, T. E. Coates, F. Freitas, A. J. Wilson, G. Blair, D. R. Dowell, G. R. Harker. The defeated candidates were Messrs A. Beban and B. I. Cummings. Mr F. Congreve was re-elected auditor.
