FIVE PERSONS INJURED

(P.A.) • HASTINGS. August 23. Five residents of Hastings were injured, one seriously, on Saturday afternoon when a car crashed into the end of a bridge on the main highway ot the northern boundary of Dannevirke and left the road. All are now in the Dannevirke Hospital. They are: John Shepherd, aged 15, fractured skull: John Steele, aged 16: Rodney Nightingale, aged 20: Donald Herbert Kennedy, aged 26: Gladys Shepherd aged 17. They were returning to Hastings after Shepherd. Steele, and Nightingale had competed in a road cycling race. Their condition is satisfactory
