NORTH HAGLEY PARK
1 BOWLING CLUB PAVILION CARETAKER Subject to the caretaker accepting the duties of honorary inspector, the City Council last evening granted permission for the flat in the R.S.A. bowling club’s pavilion in North Hagley Park to be occupied by the club’s appointee. Mr John Reid, a returned serviceman, and his wife. Because of the damage done to the Canterbury Basketball Association’s equipment nv vandals, the club had decided to emplov a caretaker for its pavilion. The Director of Reserves reported that, from the department’s ooint of view, a resident caretaker in North Hagley Park, although not under the direct jurisdiction of the City Council, would assist in maintaining good order in the park. In South Hagley. there were two resident groundsmen.
