RED CROSS AWARD TO MR J. LESLIE WILL

Mr J. Leslie Will, of Christchurch, has been made a Councillor of Honour of the New Zealand Red Cross Society —the highest honour which the society in New Zealand may confer —for “long, devoted, and-meritorious service.” In" the early part of the Second World War, Mr Will was Dominion chairman of the society and also chairman of the

Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society which sponsored the Sick and Wounded Fund. Ab chairman in Canterbury. Mr Will directed an appeal for the Sick and Wounded Fund which produced more than £lOO,OOO, an example which stimulated efforts in other parts of New Zealand. Mr Will was chairman of the Canterbury executive committee of /the Red Cross Society for nine years, retiring about two years ago.
