Fowls as Pets
Numerous fowls wandered through the house and even roosted on the pictures. said the Hastings borough health inspector (Mr J. Hopkins) when the Borough Council proceeded again** Maria Annie Rossini, aged 67. in the Magistrate’s Court at Hastings for an ordei' for the demolition of her cottage. Paper and scrim had come away froj n the walls, said the inspector. The floors had numerous rat holes, and the rooms were festooned with large black cobwebs hanging from the ceilings- - defendant said she had bought the materials and was goinc; to paint the . house herself. The fowls were her pets since she had lost her cat and , 4 ;. dog. The order was withheld for one month to enable the defendant to maK«| improvements.
